What is important is, that the apples are ripe. And that you can make a seasonal and regional apple tart from them. Here in the editorial office, this version convinced us with its unbelievable consistency, that is somewhere between creamy and crispy.
Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl, add butter (cut into pieces), slowly add the cold water. Knead into a smooth dough, form into a ball, and refrigerate for at least one hour (you can also prepare the dough and leave it in the fridge for longer).
Preheat oven to 392°F.
Prepare the apple sauce (if you like it to be homemade).
Peel the apples, core them, and cut into pieces.
Roll out the dough and place it in a tart pan. Spread the apple sauce over the dough and arrange the apples fan-shaped on top. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the tart. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
Done! A very delicious pairing: A nice, creamy cappuccino and if you like, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the tart (it’s not a must).
